Ashley Arnett, Student Intern

My name is Ashley Arnett (she/her), and I am one of the clinical social work interns at Flourish. I believe that seeking therapy takes courage and is an act of self-compassion. It can be a first step towards potential healing, awareness, and empowerment and I believe that EVERYONE deserves that.

I am drawn to a strengths-based and holistic approach to therapy. This means that I believe the experiences and relationships we’ve had throughout our lives impact how we view ourselves, the world, our relationships, and our circumstances. Your unique life experiences have given you wisdom and strength, and together we can explore these resources in your journey towards healing.

I enjoy finding ways to laugh through hard situations, and my aim is to work by listening in a non-judgmental, curious way. I want to center you as the expert in your own life, supporting you in creating an authentic and meaningful life based on your own intrinsic values. Let’s work collaboratively to explore your barriers, develop coping methods, fill gaps in communication skills, and work on problem-solving.

In addition to general mental health matters, I am interested in discussing, exploring, teaching, and learning about all aspects of sexual health. I have accumulated hundreds of hours of Post-graduate sex education training and experience. This training equips me with the skills and knowledge to better assist you if sexuality is a topic that you would like to cover in our work together.

I think that we all have it within us to handle our unique circumstances. I recognize that seeking help can be hard, but small changes make big differences. Trust must be earned, and I aim to gain that trust through creating an environment where you feel seen, accepted, and cared for. Whenever you’re ready, I would love to meet you.

When I’m not working with clients, you can most often find me listening to sexual health and wellness podcasts, daydreaming about summertime, enjoying game nights, trying new foods, or exploring Utah with my partner and our dog, Lily.
