James Jensen, Student Intern

James Jensen is passionate about the LGBTQ+ community and appreciates learning and working with all demographics! He is in his final year at the University of Utah’s Master of Social Work program and comes from a background in crisis intervention and substance use. He understands the feelings of isolation from growing up queer in a small town. He deeply values creating a safe therapeutic space free of shame and believes in people expressing their authentic selves. Show up exactly as you are, because you are the expert in your narrative.

James works from a trauma-informed, feminist, and sex-positive approach. He believes it is vital to create a dynamic where compassion and grace are present, with room to be curious and space to be empowered. Walking into therapy takes vulnerability and courage, but everyone deserves to have a therapist that will tailor their experience to their needs to heal and grow. In his spare time, he loves to travel, read, try new foods, and spend time with family and friends.
