Jacey Thornton, Student Intern
My name is Jacey Thornton (She,They). I am a master’s level clinical intern at Flourish Therapy. I use a strengths-based, client-centered approach that is more collaborative in nature than some approaches of therapy.
Each individual’s healing journey is as unique as their life journey, so my role as a therapist is to walk alongside my clients as they improve their self-concept and self-efficacy.
I am currently pursuing a Master of Social Work at Weber State University. I also earned a Bachelor of Integrated Studies in Psychology, Health Promotion, and Nutrition from Weber State.
My previous experience includes working with a non-profit agency that provided case management, mentoring, and social advocacy for female and non-binary survivors of domestic violence and sexual harm. Additionally I have volunteered, and worked, for several queer-centered non-profits in Salt Lake City over the past several years to help make Utah a
more queer-affirming state.
