Becca Wilson, AMFT
My first experience working in mental health was volunteering as a text line counselor with the crisis text line. It left me with a burning desire to be able to work with people to help them address issues more in-depth. This prompted me to return to school to establish a second career in mental health.
Prior to working with Flourish, I have had both personal and professional experience in suicidality, addiction, ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, bipolar, religious conflicts and faith transitions, non-suicidal self-harm, sexual, verbal and physical abuse, neglect, physical chronic health issues, somatic symptoms and working with individuals and families in the LGBTQ population.
I have experience counseling individuals, families, and couples. I am trained in brainspotting and informed in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy model. I am in the process of receiving specific training in career counseling and play therapy, including sand tray.
I have 6 children, most of whom are in the LGBTQ population. My love of people and desire to help them find their best life comes from my spirituality, informed by the LDS faith.
I graduated from UVU’s master of marriage and family therapy program in May of 2023.
I obtained my bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from UC Berkeley in 1989.
I love hiking, puzzles, movies, nature, animals, and people. I enjoy playing final fantasy weekly and watching anime with my kids.
