Kirra Jensen, Student Intern

Hi! My name is Kirra Jensen and my pronouns are she/they. I am a student in the Master of Social Work program at the University of Utah and a clinical intern here at Flourish. I previously received my bachelor's in psychology with a minor in sociology from Utah Valley University. I no longer affiliate myself with any religious organization, but my past personal experience in the LDS faith and living in Utah has led to my interest in supporting the queer community here.

I have training in LGBTQ+ affirmative treatment, crisis intervention, domestic violence, and addiction. I am passionate about working with the LGBTQIA2S+ community and empowering people to be their most authentic selves. I value a client-centered approach and believe you are the expert on your own life. I hope to create a safe space where my clients feel they can freely discuss their thoughts and experiences.

I currently live with my partner in Orem, Utah. I love being outside and hiking, rock climbing, and snowboarding. I enjoy eating popcorn and building Lego. I also love reading literature and writing poetry. My favorite genres are probably fantasy and science fiction, but my favorite book is Pride and Prejudice. While it strays from my most often enjoyed genre, it never fails to make me laugh.
