Maja Stocking, Student Intern

Maja is currently in the process of completing her internship and pursuing a Clinical Mental Health Certification at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. She has a 12-year tenure as a dedicated school counselor specializing in working with teenagers and their families. She earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2009 and her Master’s in Psychology and School Counseling in 2012 from Utah State University. Maja has received training in motivational interviewing, solution-focused counseling, DBT, and person-centered therapy.

An advocate for LGBTQIA+ students, Maja is driven by a profound passion for justice and equity. Having undergone a faith transition out of the LDS church more than a decade ago, she empathizes deeply with individuals navigating shifts in core beliefs and lifestyles. Maja adopts an accepting approach, collaborating with clients to introduce positive changes that enhance overall well-being.

With a firm belief in the therapeutic power of laughter amidst life’s challenges, Maja encourages a resilient and positive mindset. In her personal life, she enjoys quality time with her spouse and children, explores her love for diverse cuisines as a dedicated foodie, immerses herself in fiction reading, and maintains a regular running routine a few times a week.
