Stephanie Stevers, Student Intern
Hello there! My name is Steph Stevers, and I am currently an intern at Flourish.
I am pursuing a Master of Social Work degree at Arizona State University, and I am expected to graduate in December 2024. Before that, I completed my bachelor’s degree in psychology at Ohio State University. I am originally from Ohio, but I moved to Utah for the love of the mountains. During my time in Ohio, I was a licensed Substance Abuse Counselor for three years.
I focus on client-centered therapy with strengths-based perspectives. My main goal is to provide a safe space for clients to recognize and develop their strengths and coping strategies. I have previous training and professional education in substance abuse/misuse, grief, and cancer-related stressors. Additionally, I have personal experience with religious trauma, mental health issues, familial issues, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
Currently, I live in Millcreek with my partner. I am an outdoor enthusiast who loves skiing any chance I get, resort and backcountry. I also like hiking, climbing, and mountain biking. When I can't make it outdoors, I enjoy painting or reading, while my senior cat naps on my lap. I am a big fan of fantasy books, and I am currently reading the Stormlight series by Brandon Sanderson. I am always ready to discuss anything related to Star Wars or LOTR. I appreciate many types of music genres, but I mostly enjoy EDM.
