Camille Francis, Student Intern
Welcome! My name is Camille Francis (she/her), CMHC-I. I am thrilled to extend my support as a clinical mental health therapist intern at Flourish Therapy, where I am dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ community. With over a decade of experience as a school counselor, my journey has been deeply rooted in providing compassionate guidance and support to students. I am excited to bring this expertise into a broader therapeutic setting.
My education includes a B.S. in Family Studies (minor in Sociology), an M.S. in Counseling (emphasis on School Counseling), and a Post-Graduate Certification in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (expected completion in Dec. 2024). For more than a decade, I have worked as a middle school counselor which has equipped me with a rich understanding of individuals' diverse challenges and unique strengths in the counseling process. My experience in the educational system has honed my ability to foster a safe and supportive environment where students can explore their identities and navigate personal challenges.
I advocate for the well-being of clients and students by providing tailored support to meet their emotional and developmental needs. I am passionate about creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
At Flourish Therapy, I focus on supporting the LGBTQ+ community by providing affirming and empathetic care. I am committed to understanding the nuances of each client's journey and empowering them to thrive authentically. My approach is client-centered and strengths-based. I strive to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust and mutual respect.
I love working with individuals experiencing life transitions; whether they be faith, gender, sexuality, or any other facet of one’s life journey. I recognize that navigating changes, such as in faith or belief systems, can be a profoundly personal and sometimes challenging process. I aim to offer a supportive environment where clients can explore their beliefs, reconcile their identities, and move forward confidently and clearly.
As an intern, I am eager to continue growing professionally and personally. I am committed to ongoing learning and collaboration with my colleagues at Flourish Therapy to ensure the best care for my clients. I look forward to walking alongside individuals on their path to healing and self-discovery.
