Helen Card, Student Intern

Helen (she/her) was raised in Northern California and moved to Utah in 2009 due to the economy. I am a Mom of 5 and have three grandchildren. I was married for 23 years, divorced, and have been remarried for three years.

I spent most of my career in retail operations, where I loved empowering my staff and making deep connections with my vendors and clients.

Three years ago, I left operations to work in a non-profit in the poverty elimination sector. This experience pushed me to go back to school. I am in the last year of my Master's program in Social Work. I have a deep passion for working with the LGBTQ community. My children and I identify as LBBTQ, including my trans daughter. I have spent the last year working with women healing from domestic violence and sexual assault. I take a strengths-based approach and love to help people through their trauma to find their voices and live authentically. I have experience working with trauma, faith transitions, gender dysphoria, adoption, eating disorders, PTSD, depression, and stress. I utilize humanistic, CBT, parts work, and strengths-based modalities.
